Ectaco Jetbook Color and E Ink prototypes hands-on pictures

Ectaco's Jetbook Color will likely be the first color e-reader in the US market when it arrives in January. It's already available elsewhere, including Russian school systems, and we were quite frankly scratching our head trying to learn fish anatomy with a foreign language. Saturation on the 9.7-inch, 1600 x 1200 E Ink Triton screen felt a bit low, but the viewing angles were of course great — and just like its monochrome sibling, no battery is drained when idle. The colors on E Ink's e-reader prototype, however, had a little more punch. See for yourself, including a prototype drill with E Ink display. Seriously.
